Matt Bland – BOSS Client Conference 8
The use of issues in our company – the logging of issues in our company – is vital to us… one of the big reasons I bought BOSS was wanting to have the ability to track the communication about properties in our company… the scenario I’m taking about is: The account manager gets a phone call from Miss Smith. Miss Smith’s upset or happy – we don’t know yet. And if he is not the one managing production, how does he know what that conversation is going to be about? The tree is dead in the front of the building. Well the production guy may already know that. So how does he keep him in the loop? And we use issues to do that, and it’s been a huge part of our success with getting this model working… The e-mail function: this is how they stay in the loop. Any issue or problem identified on the job – good or bad – gets documented as an issue. That sends out a blast to the account manager and the production manager… The account manager and the production manager know about [changes], so when Miss Smith calls… they can proactively know the answer without having to say, ‘Yes Miss Smith, let me call production.
